Where our email comes from

We only email people who asked to hear from us. If a message from The Homestead Almanac reaches your inbox, it is because you entered your address on this website and confirmed that you wanted it.

We do not buy, rent, harvest or trade email lists, and we do not add people to any list because they contacted us with a question.

Getting off the list

Every message we send carries a working unsubscribe link. One click removes you. There is no survey to fill in, no reason to give, and no follow-up asking you to reconsider.

Removals are processed immediately. If a message still reaches you after that, write to support@thehomesteadalmanac.com and we will find out why.

The legal side

We comply with the CAN-SPAM Act of 2003 and with equivalent rules in the other jurisdictions our readers live in. In practice that means honest subject lines, a real sender address, a clear commercial purpose where one exists, a valid postal contact route, and unsubscribe requests honoured promptly.

If you received something you did not ask for

Affiliate offers are sometimes promoted by many different publishers at once, and a message mentioning a product we have written about did not necessarily come from us. Check the sender address before assuming it did.

If you believe an email was sent in our name without your consent, forward it to support@thehomesteadalmanac.com with the full headers. We investigate every report.

Comments and submissions

Reader submissions sent to us are used to improve articles. We do not publish your email address and we do not pass it to anyone else. What we do with the rest of your data is set out in our Privacy Policy.
